What is planta albahaca?

Planta albahaca, also known as basil or Ocimum basilicum, is a popular herb in the mint family. It is native to Southeast Asia but is now heavily cultivated in many parts of the world including India, Central Africa, Europe, and North America.

The herb has a sweet yet pungent aroma and is often used in cooking, particularly in Italian cuisine. The leaves of the plant are green, glossy, and slightly hairy, and are typically harvested before they flower.

Aside from its culinary uses, basil also has medicinal properties, mainly due to its essential oil and flavonoids. It has been traditionally used to relieve indigestion, improve circulation, and soothe respiratory conditions.

Planta albahaca can be grown in a pot or in the garden, and needs well-drained soil, plenty of sunlight, and regular watering. It is an annual plant that typically grows up to 2 feet tall and can be harvested as soon as the plant reaches maturity.
